Biography

Brian graduated with flying colours in print, film and TV design from the College of Art and Design in Dublin and never looked back.

In a very short space of time he started winning awards for his on-screen and print work for a local band called U2. The iconic, multi-award winning ZOOROPA album cover and the ZOO TV tour made his name. In short, he won four international awards for his work with the band. (Cruelly, the band disappeared from the limelight soon afterwards, and very little has been heard of them since).

Later as a partner and creative director Brian made short work of growing Dynamo into one of Ireland’s most respected design consultancies. His love of the moving image led him to set up a separate television division specializing in motion graphics and live action. As well as producing commercials for major clients and networks he also developed the brand identity for TV3, TG4 and the MTV Music Awards.

Brian has won more gongs than you’ve had hot dinners, two Gold Sharks and a Bronze and every year brings more ICAD Golds (the Irish D&ADs) for his TG4 idents. He has also been short-listed many times.

In a relatively short time Brian has worked with major international brands like Adidas, Allied Irish Bank, BBC, Coke, Lexus, Toyota and Virgin. He has completed two hugely successful campaigns for Bridgestone and most recently created a highly awarded commercial for Jose Cuervo.

He is regularly voted amongst Bang staffers’ top ten favourite roster directors. He is also developing a series of short films. He’s short, ok? We don’t make a big thing out of it.
