We love Rudi Schwab (he’s an American and they seem to like that sort of thing) and so did the Cannes Jury, awarding his Gillette film “Handle with Care” no fewer than seven Lions, including three golds!
A highly accomplished Director and cinematographer, his work has an engaging emotional power, that never leaves you feeling manipulated.
Rudi has built a career as a visual storyteller, creating vividly real scenes full of honesty and beauty. It’s a technique that places the viewer squarely in the moment as it’s unfolding.
Combining both commercial and documentary elements, his commercials offer an unfiltered glimpse into lives that we recognize and understand instantly, revealing performances of striking emotional clarity.
He understands the brands, the products and the people so well that he’s always able to tell the story with a powerful and simple honesty that you can buy into, whatever the subject.
Based in New York, but working all over the world. He’s also a devout Anglophile, and probably the only American ever to teach himself to do a British accent from Ken Loach films rather than Monty Python sketches. He’s just finished a delightful Kenco film for VCCP London.
